AUDREY ORTIZ

Director Market Access & Health Economics

Audrey Ortiz

Audrey Ortiz has a French educational cursus.

She started her education as an engineer, in preparatory class for “Grandes Ecoles” and ended up earning a Master’s Degree in Health Economics from Paris-Dauphine University and a PharmD from Paris-Saclay University.

She has work experience in oncology, at large pharmaceutical firms specialized such as Sanofi and Roche and mid-sized ones such as Celgene (now part of BMS) and Hospira (now part of Pfizer), in departments as diverse as production, quality, regulatory affairs, vigilance, regional market access, tendering services and economics affairs.

More than any manufacturing sector, the medical devices industry has a special stake in innovation. Strongly convinced of that crucial particularity, she joined Synergus, a consulting firm exclusively focused on Health Economics and Market Access for medical devices and In-Vitro Diagnostics in Europe. A few months later, she seized the opportunity to contribute to the development of MediTech Access, a French market access consulting startup. Recruited as a consultant, she took a Manager position in 2017 and was appointed Partner  in 2018. In 2020, she was recruited to lead market access consulting activities at Ockham as Director Market Access and Health Economics.

Building on these empowering experiences at European and national levels, she developed a solid skills base as an early funding and reimbursement specialist, as a medical writer and as a project manager. She holds a Lean 6 Sigma Certification. She gained working knowledge of applied health economics and modelling supported by her education in economic evaluation methods in healthcare.

Since June 2020, she is managing the market access operations in France, Belgium and Switzerland, leading and executing all reimbursement projects for medical devices, diagnostic devices, eHealth, nutrition for medical purpose and drug & device combination products at Ockham.
